What we keep, and why.

The short version: we keep what you send us so we can reply, and a note of how you found us. We don't sell any of it. Last updated October 27, 2026.

When you send us a note

The contact form asks for your name and email, and lets you add your company, phone number, website and a message. We also record which page you sent it from. We use this to reply to you, to prepare for a call if you ask for one, and to keep a record of our conversation.

How you found us

When you first visit, the site stores a small cookie called lead_source in your browser. It holds the link parameters you arrived with (such as utm_source or an ad click ID), the site that sent you, the first page you saw and when. If you send the contact form, that information is sent with it, so we know which of our marketing is working. The cookie expires after 90 days. It isn't shared with advertisers and isn't used to follow you around other sites.

If you choose a light or dark theme, your browser remembers that choice. It never leaves your device.

We don't run analytics or advertising trackers on this site.

Who else handles it

  • Vercel hosts the site. Like any web host, its servers log basic request details such as your IP address.
  • Make.com receives form submissions and passes them on to our email and records.

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your messages and contact details for as long as we're talking or working together, and for a reasonable time after that for our records. Ask us to delete them at any time.

Your choices

To see what we hold about you, correct it or have it deleted, email hello@therankingdept.com. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the site works the same without them.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
